Dewey Paul "Red" Allen, 77, of Connersville, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Fayette Regional Health System, where he had been a patient for the past four days.

He was born February 21, 1937 in Ohio, the son of George and Jane Lamb Allen. He was a graduate of New Salem High School in Rush County, Indiana.

For more than thirty years, he was employed and ultimately retired from Visteon.

For more than twenty-six years, he was married to Delores Joy Powell; Mrs. Allen survives.

Along with his wife, they attended Bible Believer’s Baptist Church in Liberty, Indiana. He immensely enjoyed cooking for his many friends and family; he was also an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Mary Tillison of Connersville, Dewey Allen, Jr. and Gary Allen, both of Rushville, Indiana and Paulette Allen of Greensburg, Indiana, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
