CURWENSVILLE - Services will be held at Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., Curwensville, Saturday at 2 p.m. for Boyd Earl Norris, 85, of Curwensville RD 1, who died Thursday, June 15, 2000, at the Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
Rev. C. Richard Berggren will officiate. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and from noon until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by member so the Curwensville VFW.
Born Nov. 9, 1914, in Curwensville, he was a son of Atlee and Ella (Hile) Norris.
Mr. Norris was retired from Bradford Coal Co., and prior to that he had been employed by the Central Pennsylvania Coal Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Curwensville VFW Post No. 842, the Curwensville American Legion Post No. 505 and the Curwensville Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 268.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Alice Proud of Olanta; a niece, Mrs. Pete (Marie) Peters of Olanta RD, who provided care; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Erma, Thelma an Mary Norris and Blanche Deter Knepp; and a brother, Clyde Norris.
