Daughter of John and Ruth Hastings Swank. She married Jack Bewley on February 7, 1953, in Galesburg. Surviving are her husband; three sons, Gerald (and Kathy) Bewley, Jackie Bewley and Donald Bewley; a daughter, Ruth Ann Bewley; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Bewley, a grandson, Joshua Bewley, three brothers and a sister.
She graduated from Corpus Christi High School.
She worked in housekeeping at Jumer's for three years and was a volunteer for the Wataga Drop In Center.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Aunt Betty suffered the effects of diabetes for many years and fought a valiant fight with never a complaint. She died of lung cancer a few weeks following her diagnosis.
