"The Mayor of Cragmont Avenue" passed away peacefully in San Francisco on June 5 at the age of 89.
Fred began his career as a musician when he was in his teens. He was quickly recognized for his big band musical arranging talents.
He served during WWII in the Pacific as a member of the United States Navy.
His surviving wife Maria, his sister-in-law, Flora Thurber, his Cragmont Ave. neighbors, and his many friends will best remember Fred for his smile, his humor and his generosity of spirit that he shared with everyone who crossed his path. He will be missed by all.
His final wishes were that there be no ceremony, that he be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea. Please send donations to the charity of your choice.
