She was born October 21, 1924 in Columbia County, Arkansas to Charles Goode and Mary Bertie (Harbison) Rogers.
After her high school graduation she moved to Dallas, Texas where she worked as an airplane assembler, Rosie the Riveter, during World War II. It was during that time that she met her future husband, Willard C, Baber and in 1945 they were married in Atlanta, Georgia.
After the war, they moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, where they raised their family. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Dorothy loved her home and it was always open to family and friends alike. She was an avid fan of Chiefs, MU football, and KU basketball. She was an active member of Deer Park Grace United Methodist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Willard; son, Steven Rogers Baber; brother, Freddie D. Rogers; and sister, Mary Faye Rogers Carter.
Survivors: daughters, Lynn (Tom) Beggs and Pam (Jim) Gardner; sons, Mark (Nancey) Baber and John (Michelle) Baber; daughter-in-law, Debi Baber; brother-in-law, Bill (Mary) Baber; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
