A funeral for Helen Mae Grittner, 88, of Vacaville, CA will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in McCune Garden Chapel. Interment will be in McEwensville, PA.
Pastor Seto of Bethany Lutheran Church will preside.
Mrs. Grittner died Feb. 7, 2003.
Born in Milton, PA June 14, 1914, and lived in Milton, PA until 1986 when she moved to Vacaville, CA. She graduated from Milton Senior High School and Muncy Valley Hospital of Nursing in 1934, and was a homemaker and private nurse for many years. She was a lifetime member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milton, PA., and was a member of the El Presidio Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution in Tucson, AZ. She was extremely artistic, loved gardening, sewing, various crafts and loved small animals.
Mrs. Grittner is survived by her son, Robert of Lincoln, CA; daughter, Nancy Froh of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Brenda Smestad of Gilbert, AZ, Linda Tobin of Sacramento, CA and James Grittner of Sacramento, CA; three great grandchildren; a sister, Meriam Deaner of Milton, PA; and a nephew, Wayne Deaner of Lewisburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, John Maxwell; a brother, Charles Millard Rauch; and a nephew, Gary A Deaner.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in McCune Garden Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Friday at Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville, PA.
