He enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps January – March 1941 where he drove a truck at Douthat State Park. He and Pauline married December 17, 1941.
Frank served in the United States Army 180th Infantry Regiment of the 45th Infantry Bridgade "Thunderbirds" March 1943 – September 1945 in the European campaign that included the Battle of Anzio. By God's grace and love, he returned home to Virginia to make his home and raise his family. Frank retired from Hercules Incorporated in 1985 after 24 years as a maintenance mechanic.
Frank loved the Lord and fulfilled God's purpose for him by witnessing and ministering to every life he touched. He studied his Bible and grew in spirit and truth. He served in his church communities with great love, dedication, and obedience. He served as Lay Leader at Hoke Chapel United Methodist Church where he also taught the Adult Sunday School Class for 40 years.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Harden and Ollie and by his siblings: Paul Thomas and wife, Edith, Charles Owen and wife, Thelma, Everett Emanuel and wife, Hazel, Violet Coleman and husband, Randolph Coleman, Nellie Campbell and husband, Wallace Campbell and husband, Ollie Nelson and several nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Pauline Lusk Sizemore and children: son, Wyatt Franklin Sizemore, Jr. and wife, Bertha, daughter Evelyn Brandner and husband Robert, son Dennis Sizemore and wife, Elizabeth, son Samuel Sizemore and wife, Bonnie, and daughter, Angela Simmons; 8 grandchildren; Troy Sizemore and wife, Andrea, Todd Sizemore and wife, Michele, April Mauney, Naomi Holt and husband, Perry, Kevan Sizemore and wife, Kimberly, Kristopher Sizemore, Amy Weeks and husband, Ches, and Andrea Hunt and husband, Micha; 25 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and many cousins.
