WlLLIAMSTOWN, August 27.-Mr.
James Laing died at Faxton Hospital,
Utica, on Monday evening,
August 20. Monday noon he was
taken to the hospital by Drs. Low and
Bartlett and wad operated upon by
the physicians there, who found a
cancer in his stomach. He never
rallied from the operation. Mr.
Idling was born in Scotland and came
to this country when very young and
settled in the town of Parish. He had
lived in Amboy for thirty years but
after his wife's death over a year ago
he came to reside with his daughter,
Mrs. A. D. Harris. Mr. Laing is
survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Harris of this village, three brothers,
Thomas, of this village, George of
Amboy and John of Bradley, Ill.,
and one sister, Mrs. Charles F. Yennie
of Wilcox, Pa, He leaves also a
host of friends by whom he will be
greatly missed. His funeral was
held from the M. £. Church on
Thursday afternoon, Rev. CO . Hlllman,
officiating. Mr. and Mrs.
Yennie were in town to attnd the
funeral.
Mr. Shibney Hall of Scriba, Mr.
and Mrs. L. Wilcox and Mrs. Nina
Greenfield of Mexico, Mr. Robert and
Miss Blanche Greenfield of Orwell
were in town to attend the funeral of
James Laing.
