Lester John Albrecht was born in 1913 in what was Crvenka, Bacska, Yugoslavia to Henry Albrecht and Margaret Schmidt. The region is now part of Serbia. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1921 with his family and they settled in the Cleveland area. His youngest sibling was born in Ohio, but all of the rest were born in Yugoslavia.
Lester married Orrie Arnold Grubaugh on 20 Jan 1940 in Cuyahoga County, OH. They had two children, Lawrence E. Albrecht and James W. Albrecht.
Lester died in 1979 and was cremated. His ashes were strewn over the grounds of the Civil War Reunion property of the 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infanty. The property is located in Sheffield Lake, Lorain County, OH.
Lester's wife went on to marry Dudley Gilmore Black in 1983. He died in 1998 and she didn't remarry after that. She died in 2007. She also was cremated and her ashes strewn over the same location as Lester.
