BENNINGTON - June M. Edgar, 78, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

She was born June 9, 1935, in Malden, Mass., the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Gibbs) Luce.

She received her education in Massachusetts.

She married Everett Edgar in Malden, Mass. They moved to Bennington in 1965.

For many years, she was employed in the Bennington School system, first in food service for 30 years, and then as a paraprofessional from 1988 until her retirement in 1999.

She was active in the Lady Shriners, Arat Court of Arlington, and enjoyed being in the Clown Brigade. She had also volunteered at the VA Clinic in Bennington for several years.

She enjoyed reading, playing cribbage and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Everett Edgar of Bennington; two daughters, Janice Brewington of Seffner, Fla., and Suzanna Bauman of Melbourne, Fla.; a son, Fred Edgar of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; six grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a sister, Emily Bruno and a brother, Michael Luce, both of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 9, at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Richard McSherry, pastor of the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church, officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
