My Grandmother was a formidable and strong woman. Born in London , i have yet to dig deep and find her parents and details about where she was born and lived.
I do know she met my Grandad when she was very young and soon married. She had two elder sisters , Aimmie and sissy
who helped look after my dad when he was a baby.
She had two more children, Stephen and June by 1943, then my grandad was drafted into the army and sent to Sicily, and did not come back. I know times were hard during the war in London . Rose remarried and went on to have six more
children with James (Jim) O'Brien and moved out to a newly
built town called Stevenage in Hertfordshire. My aunts and uncles are Jim O’Brien , Rosemary Trebble, Len O Brien ,Sue Gamble, Kathleen Pateman and Ricky O’Brien.
