She was an artist of many media, an outdoors lover who recently took part in a zombie film, and was known for her Steampunk-inspired fashion.
When Zina Lahr, 23, didn't return to her Ouray home Wednesday night, authorities and several fellow citizens scoured the area for the beloved resident. The search ended in tragedy Thursday morning, when searchers, including a resident who joined the hunt after receiving a reverse-911 call, spotted her gray shirt and then her body about 300 feet above Ouray's Perimeter Trail, north of Cascade Falls, on a section of fallen rock.
Police believe that she fell for undetermined reasons. They said no foul play is suspected.
Zina Nicole (Dembitsky) Lahr, of Ouray, Colorado went to meet her Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at the age of 23. Zina was born February 13, 1990 to Stehen Z. Dembitsky and Cynthia Elaine Lahr. She spent her childhood in Ouray and then attended Mt. Zion School for the Gifted and Talented. She went on to college with the Art Institute of Pittsburg online. Zina had also traveled and worked in San Diego and Los Angeles, California, in between her residence in Ouray.
Zina was a member of Grace Community Church on Woodgate Road in Montrose. She was a member of Young Life and Weehawkin Creative Arts of Ouray and Ridgway. She enjoyed spending time reading her bible, and loved her Lord and Savior immensely. Zina wanted to share that love and joy with everyone she met. She was a blessing to all who knew her and knew of her. She stood out from the crowd in her steamkpunk fashion and her WWII Russian aviator flight goggles perched atop her head. Animation art was her love, along with costume designing, writing and juggling her Luna Stix and Spending time with friends and family and her nieces Mali, Elen and her nephew, Curren. The great outdoors and hiking in the beautiful San Juan mountains were a great love she enjoyed doing. Zina loved life and with her zest for life, she could walk into a room and people were drawn to her. She was a beautiful and unique woman who loved and will be greatly missed by her family.
Surviving family members include her mother, Cynthia Lahr; her grandmother, Patricia Lahr, both of Ouray; brothers Brandon White and wife Liza of Denver, Co; Goss Dembitsky of Phoenix, Arizona, Stosch Dembitsky of Montrose; sister Kara Wren of Montrose; uncles Randall Lahr of Los Angeles, California, Ron Lahr of Sullivan, Indiana, Aunt Gail Lundberg and husband, Brad of Murphy, Texas; cousins Lindsay Lundberg of Washington, DC. Zina was preceded in death by sisters Brie White Gomez who died December 27, 2010, and Raia Desiree Dembitsky who died November 17, 1993, and grandfather Keith A. Lahr who died July 6, 2005.

A Graveside Interment Service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ouray. Dave Hansow of "Light Gives Heat" of Grand Junction, Colorado will officiate. A potluck meal for family and friends will be held at the Ridgway Community Church, 685 West Sherman Street in Ridgway, immediately following the Graveside Service. Following the potluck meal, there will be a celebration of Zina's life there at the church. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co.
