A short history of the family of Narcissa America Redmon.

America Redmon was the daughter of James "Jim" Redmon and Jane Ellender Bain in DeKalb County, Tennessee on 5 March 1842. America was married twice; first to James M. Delong and second to William "W.J." Jasper Adcock.

She married James M. Delong on the 7th day of February 1861 in DeKalb County, Tennessee. To this union were born two children: Emily Delong (she married Fred F. Jone, 28 October 1883 in DeKalb County) and Aceneth Delong (died young unmarried). James died in the Civil War. A Corporal in Co. K, 50th Reg't, Tennessee, CSA, he was captured on Sept. 2, 1864, in Jonesboro, Georgia. He died from small pox as a POW in Camp Douglas, Illinois just outside of Chicago. He is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, A cemetery for 6,00 CSA POWs who died there.

After James death America [Redmon] Delong married William Jasper Adcock, they were married on the 12th day of April 1874 by N.Z. Judkins J.P. in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

America and William had the following children.
John Anthony Adcock was born January 6, 1875, in DeKalb County, Tennessee and died January 24, 1958, in Madison County, Alabama. John married Mary Lou Luna.

Isaac "Ike" Denton Adcock was born March 24, 1876, in DeKalb County, Tennessee and died June 5, 1947, in Smithville, DeKalb County, Tennessee. Ike married Mary Hattie Neely on December 13, 1913, in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

James Monroe Adcock was born April 2, 1877, in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

Martha J. Adcock was born in December 1879 in DeKalb County, Tennessee. Martha married Will Tune Donnell on December 18, 1900, in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

William "Bill" J. Adcock was born in March 1881 in DeKalb County, Tennessee. Bill married Nancy B. Williamson on May 21, 1905, in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

Rosa America Adcock was born May 1882 in DeKalb County, Tennessee. America married Thomas "Tom" Luna on December 30, 1911, in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

Zebidee "Zeb" Adcock was born August 4, 1883, in DeKalb County, Tennessee and died April 25, 1957, in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. He never married and is buried in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

Thomas Pate Adcock was born April 11, 1886, in DeKalb County, Tennessee and died January 14, 1919, in DeKalb County, Tennessee. Pate married first Callie Webb on December 22, 1906, in Dekalb County, Tennessee. Callie died before the 1910 census as Thomas was listed as a widow with a young child. Thomas married second Bertie Terry on December 25, 1910, in DeKalb County, Tennessee.

America died 29 March 1926 near Smithville, DeKalb County, Tennessee and was buried in he W.J. Adcock Cemetery in Smithville, DeKalb County, Tennessee. Buried with her is William "W.J." Jasper Adcock. A PVT in the CSA army during the Civil War. He was born 13 Sep. 1837 in DeKalb County, Tennessee and died 15 Sept. 1902 in Smithville, DeKalb County, Tennessee.
