Joe E. Allen, 67 of Huntsville, passed away September 22, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida. Born in Campbell County, March 11, 1943, he was preceded in death by his father, John Allen; granddaughters: Aleasha Hill and Jamie Hill; brothers: Johnny and Robert Allen; and father- and mother-in-law, Delbert and Cleo Johnson. He is survived by his wife Pat Allen of Huntsville; children: JoLynn Hill and husband Tim, Beth Byrd, Sarah Allen, and Katie Jeffers and husband, Daniel; mother, Alene Allen; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters: Barbara Jeffers and husband, Thermon, Judy Baird and husband, Roger, and Jean West and husband, Mike; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted September 25, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Chambers and Bro. Stacey Griffith officiating. Music was provided by the Hamby Brothers. Interment followed at Allen Family Cemetery. Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville had charge of arrangements. (Source: The Independent Herald, 30 Sep 2010, pA7)

We would like to send out a special thanks to any and all people who came to our home and gave food, money, or flowers. In addition, we would like to thank the entire staff at Four Oaks Funeral Home for their kindness and support and for the wonderful job they did. We would especially like to send out a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Mike Chambers and Stacey Griffith for their beautiful words and fond memories they shared with us of Joe. We would like to thank the Hamby Brothers for providing the music and for their beautiful songs. To the ladies of Pine Creek Church and Capital Hill Church, thank you so much for the meal you prepared after the service. God bless each of you!
