Mildred C. "Midge" Mathena, 93, of Topeka, died November 15, 2013 at The House at Midland.She was born in Camden County, Missouri on June 2, 1920 the daughter of Abb G. and Floy Alma (Sweat) Woolsey.

She was a 1939 graduate of Everest High School.

Midge was a Real Estate Agent in Salina, Kansas where she worked for Paul Adrian, Larry Gutesch and Max McClintock Agencies.

She married John B. Mathena Jr. on October 30, 1941. He predeceased her on July 26, 1996.

Midge is survived by her son, John Gregory Mathena of Topeka, and a granddaughter, Johnna Michelle Mathena of Littleton, Colorado. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Woolsey on July 24, 1995 and A. Linford Woolsey on January 26, 2009.

She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
