: Lewis Black was born on 7 November 1849 in Tennessee and died at the age of 66 of "Heart Disease" on 28 May 1914 in Morristown, 506 Main Street East. He is buried at the Liberty Hill Methodist Church in Morristown, Hamblen County according to Findagrave. He was a widower and may have been married to Margaret Wiliford/Williford. I have not found a marriage for them, but there is one for a Lewis Long and Margaret Williford on 22 November 1870 in Hamblen County. He was buried by undertaker, C.B. Holley & Company at Liberty Hill. Informant, Henry Black, lists Lewis's father as Minnitree Black and mother as Sarah Cartwright (Death Certificate #11689) Margaret Williford Black was born 6 November 1848 in Hawkins County, Tennessee and died on 12 July 1907 in Hamblen County according to Findagrave. Her obituary states that, "she died at her home on East Main Street just after the midnight hour, of an infection of the heart. She had been in bad health for several months, but seemed to have fairly recovered, when she was again taken suddenly ill and died in a few moments after the attack. She died in her 58th year and had been a Christian since her early girlhood days and was a member of the M.E. Church south. Survived by one son and three daughters The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at her late home, conducted by her pastor, Rev. I.P. Martin." The 1880 Morristown, Hamblen County census, page 370A lists Louis Black 32 (Teamster) Margaret 31, Nancy 8, Etty 6, Sarah 4, Rufus 1, and Thomas Graham 20. The 1910 Morristown, Hamblen County census, family #221, page 11 lists Lewis Black 60 (widowed) Henry L. 25, Hellen L. 16, Benjamin Toney 35, Nannie M. Toney 38, Howard H. Toney 18, Mary Toney 11, and Earnest Toney 9. A death certificate (#26603) for Henry Lee Black shows that he was born on 15 June 1881 in Hamblen County and died from a cerebral hemorrhage on 27 November 1938 in Morristown. He was widowed; wife was Jessie, and a retired police officer. His parents were listed as Lewis Black and Margaret Wiliford. He was buried at Janagin Cemetery in Hamblen County. Henry L. Black, Jr. was the informant.
