Bob was a native of Pitt County and served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired farmer and member of Freedom Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Janie Tripp, Eva Wells, and Maybelle Wilson; and a brother, Jack Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Davis; daughter, Deborah Davis Jackson and husband, Ronnie, of Greenville; son, James "Buddy" Davis and wife, Lois, of Bell Arthur; grandchildren, Shannon Davis Bass and James Chandler Davis, both of Bell Arthur, Danielle B. Wright and Michael S. Blystone, both of Sanford; great-grandson, Austin Bass of Bell Arthur; sisters, Anna "Doodle" Ormond of Snow Hill, Elizabeth "Lib" Jones of New Bern and Fannie Hodges of Grifton; brother, Herbert Davis of Ayden; lifetime friends, James Baker and Harold Harris, both of Greenville; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
