Ruth (Wardlaw) Brady, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, formerly of Arcadia, SC, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009.

Born December 28, 1918, in Pickens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Homer Lee and Stella Lou (Newell) Wardlaw and the wife of the late George W. Brady.

She was a member of Westgate Free Will Baptist Church and formerly taught the Mother's Bible Class at Arcadia Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Fowler and her husband Ray of Chesnee; a sister, Kathleen Hellams and her husband J. Y. of Conestee; two granddaughters, Karen Cleapor and her husband Ken of Boiling Springs, and Donna Smith and her husband Mike of Union; two grandsons, Steve Fowler and his wife Robin of Chesnee, and Robby Jett and his wife Susan of Union; nine great-grandchildren, Holly and Kelly Cleapor, Christopher, Kristen, and Jesse Fowler, Heather Wilson, Phillip Smith, Hillary and Madacyn Jett; and a son-in-law, Harold Jett of Union.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Jett; and two brothers.

Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at Westgate Free Will Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Kevin Smith and the Rev. Glenn Rusher. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Steve Fowler, Christopher Fowler, Robby Jett, Mike Smith, Ken Cleapor, Phillip Smith, and Jesse Fowler.
