Mrs. Ruby Giddens Chalkley, age 79, of Griffin, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010 at her residence in Griffin.
Mrs. Chalkley was born in Griffin, Georgia on June 25, 1930 to the late Hiram Wesley Giddens and the late Pauline Ogilvie Giddens. She is preceded in death by her brother, J. B. Giddens. Mrs. Chalkley was a member of the McIntosh Baptist Church and Young at Heart.
Mrs. Chalkley is survived by her husband of sixty years, Everett L. Chalkley; daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Cecil Boyt of Griffin, Pam Watts of Winder; grandchildren, Fain and Kereth Hicks, Leigh Ellen and Jordan Magness, and Lindsey Watts; great-grandchild; Mary Everett Hicks; sister-in-law Angie Giddens; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Giddens Chalkley will be conducted on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Jeff Jones and Reverend Rick Whitlock will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
