This is the grave of my uncle, George Hurley. He served in the 4th Marine Division in the Pacific and took part in several significant battles, including Kwajalein, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. He never married and died of cancer at 37. Only about a month elapsed from the time of his initial diagnosis until his death.
