Lucy Mae Duncan Staton, 82, formerly of Dacusville Road, wife of the late James O. Staton, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Easley Nursing Center. Born in Hart County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late James Luther and Sally Whitman Duncan. Mrs. Staton was a retired Nursing Assistant and of the Baptist Faith. Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ansel Ellenburg of Marietta; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Sarah Staton of Easley, Thomas and Phyllis Staton and Glenn and Cindy Staton, all of Travelers Rest; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Elmer McCombs of Marietta; a brother, Charles Duncan of Marietta; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Seldon Staton. Graveside services will be held at 11 Tuesday morning at Grand View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:30 to 8 at The Howze Mortuary. The family will be at 217 Chestnut Ridge Road, Marietta. The Howze Mortuary, Funeral Directors, Travelers Rest in charge of arrangements.
