ARMA - Calvin Herman Puckett, 73, of Arma died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at his home after a sudden illness. He had been in failing health for many years. He was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Oswego to Calvin Leotis and Leta (Cunningham) Puckett. He attended area schools. He married Eleanor R. Faurergue on Dec. 12, 1950, in Pittsburg. They were married for 47 years and later divorced. He worked for Bosinio Lumber Co. from 1948 to 1951 when he took a job with Mackie-Clemons Coal Co. and worked there for three years. He then worked for Gulf Chemical Co. from 1953 to 1967. From 1967 to 1973 he was the manager of Pittsburg Reclaim Co. He then ran his own business, P&S Repair and Salvage, until 1980. After that he worked for Mapco Oil Co. in Oklahoma until his retirement. He was also a stockman and rancher. Survivors include a son, Kevin Puckett of Mulberry; two daughters, Linda Martinson of Farlington and Brenda Pogue of Cleveland, Okla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alma Taggert of Parsons. The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Verl Strong officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 8 a.m. until service time Wednesday. The casket will remain closed.
