Helen Maxine Kidwell, 97, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 17,2015 at Summers Point Assisted Living. She passed on from this earth holding the hand of her grandson, Charlie.

Maxine was born June 14,1917 to Ernest Leroy and Esta Ola (Betts) Cook. She married Charles A. Kidwell and had a daughter Charlotte. She retired from Overmyer Mold Co. after 35 years of service. She loved live and she loved people-always being the favorite aunt or "Granny Maxine" to many. She traveled the world including visiting the Holy Lands of Israel. Maxine loved to share her stories with everyone such as building torpedoes during the war, target shooting with her husband Charlie, and even playing full tackle football with her grandson, Charlie.

Maxine is survived by her grandsons, Charles (wife: Carrie) Swingley of Ridgeville and William (wife: Shella) Swingley of Saratoga; as well as several cherished great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kidwell; a beloved daughter Charlotte Swingley; a granddaughter Ronda Lee Swingley; her parents; and all of her brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at Oswalt Family Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21,2015 with Mark Garringer officiating. Calling will be one hour prior to services on Friday. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
