Tisa was a Siamese given to my mother to bring home to me. I was only 6 or 7 when Tisa arrived. I named her Tisa because I thought it sounded "Siamese." She became my little buddy and evoked much compassion -- a constant concern about her well-being. There was the winter time when she crawled underneath the floorboards of our house and I couldn't get to her or coax her out. She cried and cried, as though she were stuck. She came out after I thought to put her food at the entrance she had crawled into. Either way, I announced to my parents that I was not going to leave her there to suffer alone.

Tisa, in return, was a loving cat and lived about 15 years. Of course I was devastated at her passing of complications of old age. My dad buried her in the side lawn next to our beloved black Cocker Spaniel "Sambo." With the family property sold, the land still remains a pet cemetery for my animals.
