A proud 1932 graduate of Queen Anne High School, Esther passed away on July 24th, 2013 at the age of 98 years young.

Her lust for life and passion for family exceeded no other. From the East Coast, to the West, and countries beyond, she kept the family together.
Esther was the matriarch of our family. She was always willing to join in the fun, be it playing cards with toothpicks (or nickels!), or baseball out in the street, it just wasn't the same unless she was participating. Her love of sports led to many years as a season ticket holder to Husky Football, to never missing a televised game for the Seattle Mariners or Seattle Seahawks. In fact, none of us were allowed to leave Husky Stadium until the very bitter end, no matter if the score was 40-0.
Esther loved to travel. As a lifelong Seattle resident, she loved to travel to nice, warm, climates. Her favorites included Hawaii, Tahiti and the Cayman Islands. Another favorite was her trip through the Panama Canal on a banana boat!

Esther was also fondly known by her grandchildren as "Namu." She was quite the card shark and taught them everything they know – especially that "Gambling doesn't pay!" Which she so fondly told us all as she was taking all our toothpicks!

Esther is survived by her two loving children, Carol Ewoldt of Edmonds, WA and Peter (Sue) Anderson of Sudbury, MA; four grandchildren, Amy (Larry) Kelly of Edmonds, WA, Peter May of Jacksonville, FL, Becky Anderson of Mountlake Terrace, WA, and Jennifer Anderson of Fulton, CA. She is also fondly remembered by her two great-grandchildren, Alex and Alia Kelly; one much loved Great-Grand Dog, Bennett; and many loving extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, August 3rd, 2013 at Acacia Funeral Home, Seattle, WA. Please join the family for a time of continued sharing at a reception following services in Edmonds, WA. Driving directions will be provided at the service.

Esther enriched every life she touched and will remain in our hearts and memories forevermore.
