We can truthfully say our community has lost one of its best citizens. Mr. Foote Harper died on the first instant, of that much dreaded disease pneumonia, suppose to be the result of cold contracted while attending the district court as juror during that servere cold weather. Mr. Harper was not only a good, law abiding citizen, but also a high toned Christian gentleman, and a member of the Methodist church. No mater how boisterous the quarrelsome and warring element of the community might become, Foote Harper was for peace. And you just mark it well, there is quite a scattering stand of the crop of young men growing up in this country that will fill his place.
