Mr. Evans of Wilmington, North Carolina was born the son of the late Archie and Pearl Hewett Evans. Known as, "Tinker", he served as a Captain with the Norfolk Dredging Company for 39 years. He loved country music and was a self taught guitar player. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, and good hearted man. He is survived by two sons, Ken Evans and wife Brenda, and Kevin Evans and wife Sheila, a daughter, Kimberly West, four grandchildren, Krystal Evans, Mary Evans, Kindre West and Kyle West; three sisters, Mary Cherry, Frances Sellers and husband Randall, and Lydia Hewett, three brothers, Laury Evans and wife Grace, Maurice "Winky" Evans, and David Evans. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey Evans, Sonny Evans and George Henry Evans. Mr. Evans died at Britthaven.
