HINSDA LE -- Barbara A. Galeucia, 66, of 155 Robinson Road died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a long illness.

Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 19, 1938, daughter of William and Josephine Drain Thornton, she was a 1957 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She moved to Hinsdale in 1961.

Mrs. Galeucia had been employed by the former Grant's Department Store for 10 years.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, where she was a member of the Hinsdale Rosary. She was also a member of the Dalton American Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered for veterans groups in Leeds, Turner's House of Williamstown and the Veterans Outreach Center in Pittsfield.

She and her husband, James Galeucia, were married Jan. 28, 1961.

Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Michelle Peters of Huntsburg, Ohio; two sons, James D. Galeucia of Hinsdale and Craig Galeucia of Bluffton, S.C., and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by another daughter, Doreen Marie Galeucia, who died in 1962.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Graveside Service for Barbara Galeucia will be held in the spring in the Maple Street Cemetery, following cremation. Calling hours will be Saturday from 1 to 3 at the BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Among survivors are a daughter-in-law, Melissa Galeucia, son-in-law, Steven Peters, and grandchildren, Danielle and Andrew Peters. Memorial donations are suggested to the Veterans Outreach Center in Pittsfield in care of the funeral home, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
