Hiram was born in 1833 to Lorenzo and Mary White Andrews in Center Township, Ohio. He was the 2nd born of nine children. His father was a farmer and the 1850 Census shows Hiram was helping with the farming.

He and Hannah G Lewis were married April 16, 1856 in their home town in Ohio. Their first child, Abbey, was born in 1858, with William Franklin in 1863, Emma in 1865, and Louis in 1867 following.

Sadly, in 1868, at the age of 34 Hiram died. I've found no record stating the cause, but he was still farming at the time. It left Hannah and four small children to fend for themselves. By the 1870 Census Hannah, Emma, and Louis are living with her parents who were Obidiah and Frances Louis in Meigsville Township. Her father was also a farmer, but Hannah was working as a housekeeper. It's likely she remarried. Her son, Louis died in Los Angeles, California December 16, 1944 of cerebral arteriosclerosis, a painful 10 months for him.
