GIRL IS ACCIDENTLY KILLED
Miss Russ Bean, daughter of Milton Bean, a well known ranchman of the Centennial Valley, was shot and killed last Monday as the result of an accidental discharge of a double-barreled shot gun in the hands of a small boy. The accident occurred at about 6 o’clock Monday morning at the home of Levi Shambow in the Valley. A small boy, who had been adopted by Mr. Shambow from the Orphan’s Home, started to take down the gun from the wall to shoot at a hawk which was flying around and in doing so, accidentally discharged one of the barrels. The charge struck Miss Bean, who was standing near, just below the knee, almost severing the leg. Assistance was hurriedly summoned, but could not be secured in time to save her life. She died six hours after the accident. The young lady was 20 years old and a native of the Centennial Valley. The funeral was held at 2 o’clock this afternoon. Interment was made in the valley at the Jones Cemetery.
