In the Portrait and Biographical Album of 1889 it states that Henry was a resident of Harrison County Virginia until coming to Vermilion County in 1827 where he entered a tract of land in Danville Township where he lived for many years. He was a hatter and engaged in that as well as farming until 1848 when he moved to Iowa and became a Pioneer of Marion County. A few years later he returned to Illinois and made his home with his children there. He returned to the Hawk Eye State where he resided until he died at the advanced age of ninty-eight years. His wife lived to be about the same age. They were the parents of fourteen children ten of whom grew to maturity and married.
This article also states that William Current left Harrison County Virginia in 1827 in the company of both his father and his father-in -law's family. The entire journey made with ox teams. They entered Government Tracts in Newell Township. It was wild prarie with no improvements and they lived in temporary shelters for one year.

In The Past and Present of Vermilion County Illinois there is a biography of Isaac Current on page 326. This gives some information on Henry Bastwin. It states that both of Isaac's parents were born in Virginia. "The maternal grandfather, Henry Bastwin, was also born in Virginia, and upon leaving that state traveled westward until he took up his abode in Danville township, Vermillion County Illinois. Here he engaged in business as a hat maker, following that pursuit for a number of years. Later he went to southern Illinois and after his retirement from business he made his home with his daughter, Mrs Current, for a short time. He next went to Iowa, where he lived with another daughter until his death, which occurred when he had reached the advanced age of nearly one hundred years.
Henry and Mary were the parents of fourteen children, 10 of whom grew to maturity and married.
In 1850 Henry and wife Mary were living in Newell Township, Vermilion Co., Illinois again.
Both Henry and his wife Mary were buried in Bellfountain Cemetery. This cemetery is located in Mahaska County but many nearby Marion County residents are buried there. Both Henry and Mary Baston are buried there as "Boston", in unmarked graves.
