CENTENNIAL MATRON DIES RANCH HOME
Mrs. Henrietta Bean Passes Away Thursday-After Long Illness
Mrs. Henrietta Bean, esteemed Centennial Valley matron, died at her home last Thursday after a lingering illness. She was the wife of Milton Bean, Centennial rancher, the two having celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years ago.
Mrs. Bean was born in Tama County, Iowa, April 2, 1863, and moved to Kansas with parents at the age of 7 years. She lived there until she was 17 and came to Montana with her parents in 1881, locating in Custer County on the Rosebud River.
She was married in Forsythe, May 31, 1883 to Milton Bean and they moved to Centennial valley in 1886. She made her home there ever since.
Mrs. Bean was the mother of 12 children, of whom nine are still living, in addition to 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Surviving her are her husband, nine children, Mrs. Mary Torpe, Idaho Falls, Mrs. Rosa Noyes, Chinook, Mont; Mrs. Maude McBride, Lima; Mrs. Grace Judy, Monida; Milton H. Bean, Monida; Ellis J. Bean, Easton, Wash; A. J. Bean, Monida; Mrs. Roberta McDowell, Monida; Farmer F. Bean, Easton, Wash.
The funeral was held from the ranch home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
