Tommy DEHONEY, age 51, well-known Green County farmer, died Fri. 28 Aug {1987} at Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital. First with his father, Ewell DEHONEY, and in more recent years with his sons, Barney and Ben, he had a substantial family farming operation in Green Co. In addition to this, he worked seasonally as a tobacco warehouseman. Within the farming community, at church or among his many friends, DEHONEY was known and respected as a master story-teller. His ready wit was legend among the many people with whom he associated. DEHONEY was an active member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, a past member of the Administrative Board and a former steward.
DEHONEY was born in Green Co., 28 Jan 1936, the son of Ewell DEHONEY, who survives and the late Mary Frances Thompson DEHONEY. He died 28 Aug 1987. He is survived by his wife, the former Delia HENDERSON, with whom he united in marriage 2 Feb 1957; 2 sons, Barney T. and Ben T. DEHONEY, both of Greensburg; a sister, Sarah Frances NOE, Greensburg; his grandfather, Ivan S. THOMPSON, Greensburg; 1 granddaughter, Diane DEHONEY, Greensburg, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home Sun 30 Aug at 2 pm with burial in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Paul KENEIPP, pastor of the Greensburg United Methodist Church, officiated. Pallbearers were Conley BOLTON, Don HENDERSON, David CUNDIFF, Richard ALVEY, Marvin BREEDING, and Tommy DONAN.
