Benjamin V. Bennett
Benjamin Ventson Bennett, 59, husband of Emma Ford Bennett of 1 Dillard St., Arcadia, died 5:30 p.m. Monday in General Hospital after a brief illness.
Native of Spartanburg; son of the late Benjamin W. and Callie Cannon Bennett; member of West Side Baptist Church; veteran of World War II; dispatcher of Edward's Trucking Co.
Also surviving: son, Benjamin M. of Spartanburg and Ronald V. Bennett of Arcadia; daughters, Mrs. Jerri Nix of Wellford and Mrs. Janie Leroy of Spartanburg; stepmother, Mrs. Nettie Mills Bennett of Spartanburg; sisters, Mrs. Caroline Gossett and Mrs. Alsie Scott of Spartanburg; brothers, Bishop M. and Dwight A. Bennett of Spartanburg; six stepsisters; two stepbrothers; and eight grandchildren.
Services 4 Wednesday at Arcadia Freewill Baptist Church by the Revs. Donald M. Seay and Robert A. Nix; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Body in church at 3 Wednesday.
Family to receive friends 7-9 tonight at M.W. Bobo Funeral Chapel.
