Robert Walter Jannings, 81, of Burlington, died at 2:01 PM Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born August 19, 1931, in Argyle, he was the son of Rex Edward and Isabel Blickel Jannings. On September 14, 1955, he married.

Bob worked as a quality engineer at Sylvania, and IRC, and also worked at Delzell Motors, and retired from General Electric.

He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School.

He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 52. He enjoyed to buy and sell cars, electronics, and he could fix anything. He loved watching his grandchildren's events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandson.
