Ava Carson Bancroft was born 12 Nov 1876 in Waverly, Coffey County, Kansas to William E. Bancroft and Asenath Carson. She married first, William A. Donnell June 1897 at the home of her mother in Waverly. To this union three sons were born, Kenneth B. Donnell 1898-1993, Edwin Topping Donnell 1899-1988 and Harvey Phillip Donnell 1908-2004.
Ava's husband William was hard of hearing and was killed in 1913 at Parsons, Kansas when he was hit by a Switch Engine while crossing the train tracks.
