Dorothy Cassel, 69, was in a fatal auto accident on Sunday, October 24, 1999. Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m., at the First Christian Church in Edmond, on 2nd and Blvd.
Dorothy was born June 23, 1930, in Oklahoma City and has resided in Edmond for 29 years. She graduated from Putnam City High School in 1947, attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, majoring in piano and organ, before attending Business College in Oklahoma City. She has been Administrative Assistant for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Oklahoma for 19 years. Her retirement was scheduled for April 30, 2000. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. A very talented musician, she served as organist for Putnam City Christian Church and has played for many weddings and substituted for many church organists in the area through the years. She served in many capacities at the First Christian Church in Edmond, and also the Oklahoma Christian Home, Breakfast on Boulevard, and Mother to Mother Ministries Lync Theater.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Louise and Lark Cassel. Memorials may be sent to the Christian Church in Oklahoma, 301 N.W. 36th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73118
