Esta Lea Daniel Ashley departed this life on May 28, 2013, in a rehab and assisted living center in McKinney, Texas. She died at the age of 97 years, 6 months and 28 days.

Born on Oct. 30, 1915, she was the daughter of Clifford Hugh and Mary Ann DeBusk Daniel. She was born on a farm in the Newberry Community, just east of Millsap, where she attended elementary school and went on to graduate high school in Millsap in 1933. She was born a twin to Para Lea Daniel Moore.

Esta Lea married Hugh Theo Ashley on Aug. 19, 1937.

Esta Lea was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two nephews.

A private graveside service and burial was held May 30, at the Newberry Cemetery, under the direction of Mount Olivet Funeral Home of Fort Worth.

Honorary pallbearers were Scott Ashley, Earl Ashley, Brandon Ashley, Linc Grubaugh, Payton Grubaugh and Dee Westbrook.
