Jo Paul Archer, 36, of Lubbock died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, after a courageous battle with Leukemia.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Seymour with the Rev. Dannie Gwinn and the Rev. Deacon Art Casias officiating. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home in Seymour.

The son of Benny and Linda (Grinstead) Archer, Jo Paul was born April 11, 1969, in Seymour. Growing up in Knox, Baylor and Jones Counties, Jo Paul graduated from Seymour High School in 1987. On July 21, 1995, he married Ann Carlton in Acapulco, Mexico. He earned his undergraduate degree from Midwestern State University and his doctorate of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University. He achieved licenses from the State of Texas as a funeral director and embalmer, attorney, and Certified Public Accountant. His work experience included several years in the funeral industry, accounting, and practicing law. He proudly worked as a staff attorney for the Texas Department of Public Safety in Lubbock, also as a Mediator, Adjunct Professor, and volunteered legal pro bono clinics.

He is survived by his wife, Ann (Carlton) Archer; their daughters, Katie Jo Archer and Addison Ann Archer, both of Lubbock; his parents, Benny and Debbie Archer of Seymour, and Linda Archer of Hamlin; sisters, Vonda Archer of Seymour, and Jaci Harlan of Lubbock; grandparents, Paul and Flo Grinstead of O'Brien; his aunts, Vondell Archer of Seymour, and Lisa Grinstead of Austin; his cousins, Brandon, Sheryl, and Brayden Blair of North Richland Hills; his parents-in-law, Terry and Cathy Carlton of Vernon; his other sisters, Jennifer Rhone and husband David, and Pam Featherston and husband Brad, all of Wichita Falls; his nephews, Jake and Gray Williamson and Lukas Featherston; and his niece, Libby Featherston, all of Wichita Falls.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. tonight, June 9, at Sanders Funeral Home and Friday evening at Jo Paul's family's firm, Archer Funeral Home in Seymour.
