Rose L. McElwee, 92, formerly of Kingston and Philadelphia, died Monday at Leader West Nursing Center, Kingston, where she had been a guest.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Jan. 3, 1900, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Susan Keenan McElwee. After graduating from Wilkes-Barre High School, she attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Philadelphia. Prior to her retirement, she was a registered nurse at St. Joseph's and Jefferson University hospitals, both of Philadelphia. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Theresa Genewski, Kingston; one niece and two nephews.
Funeral services will be 9 am. Thursday from the McLaughlin Funeral Home, 416 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
There will be no calling hours.
