Diana was a very special little girl with cerebral palsy and other complications who lived out all the dark days of her life tucked away in a crib and deprived of human contact in a Ukrainian orphanage.
She stole a little piece of my heart, and I so desperately wanted to be her mother. To give her the life, love and happiness she deserved.
My baby died before I ever got to hold her.
Rest in piece, my precious girl. You are now and forever my first daughter, and I think of you every day.
I know that you are in Heaven now, and will never be lonely or hungry again. There, your sweet little body is whole and perfect, and I rejoice for that, but I grieve that I did not get to let you know how loved you were. I grieve that I did not get to hold you until the Lord called you home.

Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
