Ruth Rumley Fargis, 84, of 206 Neal Street, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital in the Palliative Care Unit.

Mrs. Fargis was born in Rockingham County to the late Dewey and Ada Landreth Rumley. She attended the Reidsville Alliance Church. She was the owner / operator of Candy's Grocery. Prior to her time at the grocery, she worked for many years as a seamstress for GEM Dandy and Brookside. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. A woman of faith, she enjoyed reading her Bible and watching Dr. Charles Stanley. Her hobbies included puzzle books, watching the Atlanta Braves and spending time with her precious dog, Sugar. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Verlyn "Candy Boy" Fargis; her brothers, Monroe, Edward, Clarence, Carlisle, and Robert Rumley.

Mrs. Fargis is survived by two sons and two daughters,four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She also has one brother remaining and many neices and nephews.
