Michael Cannon Barker 1969 ~ 2006 Michael Cannon Barker, 37, passed away Oct 6, 2006 in Las Vegas, NV after a lengthy illness. He touched and influenced many people's lives. He was loved by his family, friends, co-workers and customers. Mike was born May 2, 1969 to William (Larry) Barker and Christa Barker in Salt Lake City, UT. He grew up in West Valley City, UT; graduated from Cyprus High School in 1987. His first job at age 14 was the mouse at Chuck E Cheese. After high school he started working at Zions Bank until transferred to Nevada State Bank in 2001. In Aug. he was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Training and Implement Officer of Cash Management Department. Mike loved all kinds of music and was an avid Beanie Baby and Pin Collector. He is survived by his parents Larry and Christa; brother Will (Denise) Barker and one niece Marissa Foody. Also his life partner Blaine (Ryan) Solum, grandma Joyce Hinman and grandparents Richard and Beth Barker. Preceded in death by his grandpa Larry Hinman and canine friend, Sheba. Special thanks to Doctors Mike and Richard, Spectrum Family Medical staff and those who cared for him at St. Rose Dominican Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday Oct. 14, at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S, West Valley City, UT. Viewing one hour prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
