Gordie, as he was known, was the oldest child of Alexander and Catherine Chomiak. After graduating from Pershing High School, Gordie entered the Navy. While stationed at Little Creek Naval Base, he met his wife to be, Marilyn. There were many stories told around the dinner table of how Gordie could always be seen walking toward my grandparents home at dinner time. As the story goes, when Gordie was passed a serving dish or bowl, he would empty it on to his plate, then ask, "Did anybody want any of this?"
He was survived by his wife Frances Marilyn, who passed away one year later. He was also survived by his daughters Denise Lee (Dee Dee) and Cassandra Lynn (Sandy), his son Gordon Michael, both his parents, and two sisters.
Gordie suffered from melanoma.
