In Kettle River -Mr Vader and Mrs Beach, the hotel owner got into Mr. Vaders's Car, a lineman for from Moose Lake and started for that village.
When they got to Dean Man's Corner, so named after the fire because of the numbers of people who perished there.
Mr.Johnson drove on and as they came to the other side of the curve they saw the bodies of Mr Vader, Mrs Beach and her granddaughter laying on the side of the road burned to death.

Word has been received by N.B. Silcox of this city from V.E. Beach, formerly of this city, that his wife [Dora E. Marley Beach] and granddaughter were burned in the forest fire in Northern Minnesota.
Mr. Beach was out fighting the fire. His wife and daughter, with others, left by auto to escape the fire. Later the car was found upside down and the occupants were all burned beyond recognition. Mr. Beach, in his letter, does not indicate how he knows these facts but says there is no doubt of them. The remains were burned beyond identification, however.
