Olive B. Barta, age 95, of Glenbeulah, passed away with the love of her family at her side, Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2005 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan where she had been a patient one day.

She was born June 12, 1909 in Ladoga in Fond Du Lac Co, a daughter of the late LeRoy and Agnes Jaques Van Pelt.

On Nov. 8, 1926 she was married to Anton Barta. The couple lived in Antigo before moving to Glenbeulah in 1945. Her husband preceded her in death June 17, 1990.

She had been a member of the Glenbeulah Methodist Church, and then Community UCC and had served in their Ladies organizations and had taught Sunday school. She was currently a member of the Saron United Church of Christ in the Town of Sheboygan Falls.

Known to her grandchildren as "Grandma Ollie," Olive spent her life giving to her family and being involved in the lives of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and loved cooking and baking for the family. She will also be remembered as a best friend and companion to her loving sister who she spent many happy hours playing scrabble with as well as her great-grandson, Andy.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Mooney of Glenbeulah; one son, David (Sonja) Barta of Sheboygan; 13 grandchildren, Linda (Robert) Heus, Susan (David) Washnesky, Diane (Greg) Abbot, Brian (Helen) Barta, Michael (Kari) Mooney, Joel (Judy) Mooney, Michelle (Jeffrey Ehlers) Mooney, Jill (Doug) Daun, Joy (Dan) Grunewald, David (Lola) Barta Jr., Aaron (Jenna) Barta, Amy (David) McCue and Malachi Tinkle; her great-grandchildren, Cody, Camie and Cora McCue, Mike, Adam and Holly Barta, Sydney and Josh Barta, Amber Gatica, Holly and Janel Erdmann, Jedediah (Megan) Tinkle, Tamar (Justin) Kasburg, Cana Tinkle, Rachel Tinkle and Ezra Tinkle, Craig Mooney, Samara Harand, Nora and Elliot Ehlers, Christopher and Derrik Daun, Adam Konz and Emily and Raechel Grunewald, Danielle and Kimberly Washnesky, Jim and Mary Heus, Andy Heus, Tony and Sherry McMahon and her great-great-grandchildren, Loyla Gatica, Hunter Schroeder, Azure and Vane Tinkle, Fabian Tinkle and Massy Kasburg and Dominic Heus; as well as her sister, Blanche Van Pelt of Glenbeulah. She was preceded in death by one son and daughter-in-law, LaVern (Beatrice) Barta; one brother and sister-in-law, Lee (Loraine) Van Pelt; and two grandchildren, Pamela Barta and Jeffery Barta.
