Funeral services for Helena Elizabeth Baker of Elsberry were held Dec. 8, 1988, at Carter-Ricks funeral Home in Elsberry. The Rev. Leland Holland & Rev. Terry Gallamore officiated with the burial at Elsberry City Cemetery.
Pallbeares were Michael Taylor, Bill Kirkhart, Marvin Weber Jr., Dale Ligon, Marvin Weber Sr. and Homer Lewis Reed.
Mrs Baker was 90 years old and died Dec. 6, 1988 at St Joseph Health Center in St Charles. Born on 26 August, 1898 in Foley, she was the daughter of Thomas N. and Mary Elizabeth (nee Knox) Dyer. On April 15, 1922, she was married in Hannibal to Lowell Richard Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Richard Baker. she is survived by her two daughters, Mary Kirkhart and Helen Ligon, both of Elsberry; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, William Kirkhart of Elsberry.
Mrs. Baker was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. She was an honorary Member of the American Legion Post No.226 Auxiliary, worked as a pianist for the silent movie theater and was known as an accomplished pianist.
