Virginia R. (Ring) Lane, 87, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13th 2009 at the Health Center at the Willows of Worcester.
Virginia "Ginny" leaves her beloved husband of 61 years, John "Jack" Lane of Shrewsbury. She was the loving mother of Priscilla A. Lane and her husband, Bruce Sloman; Susan L. Ostrosky and her husband, John J. Ostrosky; Janis N. Lane and Debra N. Lane. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother, William N. Ring; a nephew, several nieces, many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank R. and Ima N. (Nailling) Ring; a brother, Frank R. Ring, Jr., and a sister, Evelyn R. Wood.
She was born and raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High School and Mount Ida Jr. College. She was a medical and legal secretary for many years as well as a homemaker.
Ginny enjoyed baking, writing to family friends, and spending time with her loved ones. She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church and the Martha Circle there. Ginny volunteered with her husband, Jack for many years in the Shrewsbury school system.
