Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - March 5, 1996. Obituary: ANDREW (ANDY) A. BALLARD. Andrew Allen Ballard, 69, loving husband, father, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 1996. Born June 30, 1926 to Henry D. and Viona A. Ballard. Married Lois Washburn on June 24, 1949 in Draper. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and worked over 30 years in steel fabrication. He loved music, baseball and the outdoors. For over 20 years, Andy enjoyed endurance riding with his companion, Fancy Boy. He also loved the game of basketball, and played it every Sunday. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell stories. He was an active member of the community and spent many hours serving others. Andy was born and lived all his life happily in Draper and was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survived by his loving wife, Lois; son, Jeff Ballard, daughters, Linda (Dale) Pace, Kayleen (Byron) Andrus, Marsha (Gary) Mauchley, Laura (Mick) Meeks; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Allen, Ralph, Lynn and countless friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the Draper 6th LDS Ward Chapel 12870 South 1300 East. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
