Uriah Baldwin was born in the New Garden community in Guilford County, NC, a son of Uriah and Hannah (Hunt) Baldwin. He married the 18th of 9th mo 1828 at West Grove Friends Meeting, Wayne Co., IN, Lydia Pickett. About 1830, he, his wife and child, relocated to Henry County, IN, where they became members of the Duck Creek Friends meeting in Greensboro. Uriah was disowned in 1855 for non-attendance, but was received again as a member in 1868. He and his wife had two children.
